Since our founding, 98% of Academy graduates have received a high school diploma and 88% have matriculated in college.
Building a Program That Works
Throughout the Academy’s history, we have remained committed to a model that includes an extended school day, an extended school year, rigorous academics, small class sizes, a dedicated faculty, and individualized attention for each student. We continue our commitment to each student, providing support and guidance through high school, college and beyond.
An Extended Day & Year
Many students arrive at the Academy with academic skills one or two years below grade level. When they graduate four years later, our students place at grade level or often significantly higher. Our 9 hour school day and 11 month school year provides the time for our boys to be prepared for success in the most rigorous of college-preparatory high schools in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Caring Teachers & Mentors
The Academy's approach flows from the centuries-old tradition of Jesuit education centering on the care of the unique and entire person of each student - Cura Personalis. The Academy's size enables each teacher to know their students individually, creating a safe and nurturing place of learning and lifelong friendships.
Ensuring Each Students’ Continued Success
Our Graduate Support Program mentors and supports our students beginning with high school admissions and follows them with twice a year visits at their school and monitoring of their grades and performance. Graduate Support services continue into college with resources to guide continued success including free SAT Prep classes, college tours, and annual seminars including support with college financial aid applications.
Achieving results
Academic Growth
Accepted students are administered the Iowa Test of Basic Skills in the spring prior to beginning their academic journey at the Academy. All students take the Iowa’s each spring, enabling the Academy to measure their academic progress. In general, students measure one to two grade levels below 5th grade upon acceptance and graduate from the Academy at or above grade level.
Graduation Rates
The Academy’s Graduate Support Program (GSP) follows each student for at least eight years after graduation. We are committed to continuing to provide the same level of support students received while at the Academy. GSP provides guidance, programs, resources and individualized contact for every graduate, ensuring he is able to achieve his personal best.
Where They Go
