for the 2025-2026 School Year

The Academy’s Teaching Fellowship is a two-year program working with highly motivated inner-city boys who attend the Academy on full scholarships and are aspiring to attend competitive, college-preparatory high schools and colleges.

The work of the Academy allows us to put our hope for the future into action. It is a tangible expression of love.

The Academy Fellow Experience

You will work and live as part of a team of young and energetic full-time teachers who reside near the Academy and who enjoy their work. Receive excellent mentoring and support in a job that makes a difference!

As a Fellow, your two-year service begins with you gaining valuable first-year teaching experience serving as a summer school teacher in our four-week July Term. During the traditional school year (late August through May), you will co-teach a variety of classes, as well as serve as an advisor and coach. The year concludes with your service as a camp counselor in the Academy’s two-week overnight camp at the Claggett Center in Adamstown, MD. Camp takes place during the first weeks of June and is faculty-run. Your second year follows a similar schedule with increased teaching responsibilities.

The Fellows’ residence is just a few blocks away from the Academy. This four bedroom row house in historic Federal Hill offers community living that supports the Fellowship.

The Academy moved to the Federal Hill neighborhood in Baltimore in 2013 to a fully renovated school building. Additional updates were completed in 2024.
