Ways to Volunteer
Academic Tutors
Tutors work one-on-one with students who need more support in a particular subject area including math at various levels, Language Arts, science, history and religion. Tutoring occurs on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5:00 PM at the Academy.
General Homework Helper
Homework helpers assist students with assignments in all subjects as well as assignment organization and tracking, and time management. Homework helping occurs on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5:00 PM at the Academy.
Office Assistant
Office assistants provide support to Admissions, Advancement, Graduate Support and school operations. Projects may include data entry, filing, preparing mailings, and making copies.
Athletic Assistant
Athletic assistants support head coaches for the Academy’s teams including soccer, cross country, wrestling, basketball, baseball, and lacrosse, or assist with the Academy’s after-school intramurals program. Intramurals and organized athletic teams meet on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 5:00 PM.
Graduate Support Program Assistant
Graduate Support Program assistants work with current students and alumni with high school, college or career preparations. Projects may include mock interviews and essay, cover letter and resume reviews.
Event Set-Up Helper
Event set-up helpers work with Admissions and Advancement to prepare for school and community gatherings. Projects may include setting up tables and chairs, decorating, hanging event signage, etc.
Corporate ANd Group Volunteer Opportunities
As part of an Academy education, all students participate in community service projects throughout the year. Corporate and group volunteers work side by side with a group of students to complete a service project that benefits either the Academy or greater Baltimore community. Projects may include preparing meals for local charities, community clean ups, and more. Volunteer groups may include up to 10 individuals and a donation towards project supplies is requested.

Becoming A Volunteer
Step One
Complete and submit the Volunteer Interest Form.
Step Two
Once your Volunteer Interest Form is received and reviewed, we will reach out to you to set up a phone call to discuss your interests, available volunteer opportunities and make a match!
Step Three
Once a volunteer match has been made, you will receive an email to complete a formal Volunteer Application. Once your application is received, a background check will be completed.
